Mystery Surrounds Discovery of Three Zimbabwean Men’s Bodies Floating in Mpumalanga River

Police are investigating the deaths of three Zimbabwean men whose bodies were found floating in the Nkomazi River at a game reserve in Elukwatini.

Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, a spokesperson for the provincial police, reported that the bodies were retrieved by divers on Friday. There were no visible injuries on the bodies.

The men had been reported missing by concerned friends who stated that the trio had gone to the game reserve but never returned. Police were alerted and began searching the area.

While at the reserve, officials informed the police that some individuals often enter the premises without permission.

Additionally, it was noted that suspicious people had been seen in the area about a week prior, but they fled when authorities arrived.

After further investigation, the police discovered the bodies in the river. An inquest has been opened to determine the cause of death, and a postmortem will be conducted.

The identities of the men will be released once their families have been notified.

Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi, acting provincial commissioner of the SAPS, has called for a thorough investigation into this “shocking incident” to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

This case adds to recent reports of fatal incidents in South Africa, including the tragic death of an American millionaire during a hunting trip earlier this month.
