Haunted Suitcase or Cruel Prank?…Harare CBD stunned as live dog pops out of luggage

Harare’s Central Business District was left in shock yesterday when a live dog emerged from a suitcase abandoned along Jason Moyo Avenue, sparking fears of witchcraft and bizarre speculation.

According to witnesses, the suitcase began to shake slightly, attracting the attention of a curious passerby who decided to open it, despite warnings from others.

“We honestly thought it was something supernatural. I was expecting a snake or even a goblin, not a dog,” said one onlooker.

To the astonishment of the gathered crowd, a small dog, its legs tied with rope poked its head out of the luggage.

It appeared calm, wagging its tail and sniffing the crowd as if nothing had happened.

A street vendor claimed to have seen the man who left the suitcase.

“He was wearing a sports jersey, number 23 on the back, and just walked away like nothing happened,” she recalled.

Others speculated the luggage might have been stolen and dumped by a thief, while some remained convinced there was a darker twist.

“You don’t just find a dog in a suitcase in the middle of town. There’s something off about this,” muttered another witness.

As people took photos and videos, debates about animal cruelty, street crime, and strange rituals filled the air leaving Harare residents with one burning question:

“Who would lock a living dog in a suitcase, and why?”
