SHOCKING: Man from Matebeleland South rapes three goats, two of them die after the act due to injuries
Shock and disbelief have gripped the farming community of Clinton Farm in Figtree, Matabeleland South, after a 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly r@ping three goats—two of which later died from injuries sustained during the assaults.
Brighton Mnkanda appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware on charges of bestiality, following a series of disturbing incidents reported between August 15 and September 1.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the court that Mnkanda allegedly broke into three separate goat pens on different nights and s€xu@lly assaulted female goats.
She said the case came to light after one of the complainants traced footprints from the scene to the suspect’s homestead, which led to a police report.
Officers responded swiftly, arrested Mnkanda, and placed him in custody.
The brutality of the attacks left two goats dead and a third severely injured.
Each assault reportedly occurred on a separate date, with the suspect targeting the animals individually.
The community has been left reeling, with residents describing the acts as inhumane and beyond comprehension.
Calls for justice and stronger animal protection laws have grown louder as the case gains national attention.
Investigations are ongoing, with authorities gathering forensic evidence and witness statements to strengthen the prosecution’s case.
Mnkanda has been remanded in custody until September 12, when the matter is expected to return to court.
