Trainer Plane Crash Kills Two At Manyame Airbase
Tragedy struck the Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) on Tuesday afternoon when a trainer aircraft reportedly crashed shortly after take-off at Manyame Airbase in Harare, killing two personnel.
Unconfirmed reports indicate the plane lost power around 12:15 PM, moments after leaving the runway.
The pilot is said to have died at the scene of the crash, while the officer cadet who was on board succumbed to injuries hours later, passing away at around 4 PM in the hospital.
The AFZ has not yet officially confirmed the incident, but sources suggest the aircraft had barely taken off when it experienced engine failure and came down within the confines of the airbase.
