A CHIREDZI domestic worker has been hauled before the courts for allegedly allowing a 13-year-old girl to engage in sexual activities inside her employer’s home.

The 33-year-old woman, Qiniso Mthunzana, appeared before the Chiredzi Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody to 1 October.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the shocking incidents happened between 1 June and 30 August 2025.

“The accused person allowed a 13-year-old girl to engage in sexual activities within the residence where she was employed as a domestic worker,” the NPAZ said in a statement.

Police investigations were launched after a tip-off, leading to Mthunzana’s arrest.

The NPAZ stressed the importance of protecting children, warning that anyone who enables or ignores abuse will face serious consequences.

“Children must be shielded from environments that expose them to sexual harm. Adults who enable or ignore such exploitation will face serious legal consequences,” read the statement.

The girl’s identity has been withheld to protect her privacy and safety. _*BMetro*_
