Ngundu man dies after drinking 2-litres of ‘guchu’, a bedroom enhancement drink

NGUNDU – A Ngundu man died after drinking two litres of a sexual enhancement concoction (guchu).

Knowledge Chikafu (48) of Mutsimba Village, Headman Gororo in Chivi drank the concoction on Sunday around 2pm and began vomiting. He was rushed to a local clinic, transferred to Chivi District Hospital and later transferred to Masvingo Provincial Hospital where he died on Wednesday.

Patinyu added that Police has since arrested Juliet Majoni (71) of Chikamure Village, Headman Madzivire, Chivi who allegedly sold the concoction to Chikafu. Masvingo travel guide

Circumstances are that Chikafu bought a two litre bottle of concoction from Majoni at Ngundu bus terminus around 2pm.

Chikafu drank the concoction on his way home and he began vomiting. His brother, Peter Chikafu rushed him to Gororo Clinic around 4:30pm as his condition continued deteriorating.

Chikafu was referred to Chivi District Hospital on the same day. His condition worsened on the next day and he was transferred to Masvingo Provincial Hospital where he died on Wednesday around 9pm. A postmortem is yet to be done.Masvingo travel guide

Police have since arrested Majoni and recovered a bucket she allegedly used to mix her concoctions.

“As the Police, we encourage citizens not to buy concoctions from unlicensed practitioners to avoid unnecessary loss of life,” said Patinyu.
