Five armed robbers raided a Harare bakery in Graniteside on Sunday and drove away with US$8,400

Richard Zhao, 45, and his five employees, were attacked by six armed robbers who went away with cash and their cellphones.

One of the robbers drove a Hino Truck, inscribed with the words ‘MUDHARA ABVA KUSVIKA,’ to the bakery.

He pretended to be a customer who wanted to buy some cakes.

Five men jumped out of the back of the truck.

They were armed with knives and machetes and they were wearing face masks.

Four of the robbers stole cash and their victims’ cellphones.

They went on to damage the CCTV camera and locked their victims in the warehouse.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case.

“Police are investigating an armed robbery case in Graniteside.

“Total amount stolen is US$8,400,” said Insp Chakanza.
