DRAMA IN MASVINGO: Wife ‘assaults’ hubby for asking stepdaughter’s whereabouts

MASVINGO – A Masvingo woman with a domestic violence conviction is back in court after she allegedly assaulted her husband with a hoe handle and strangled him for inquiring the whereabouts of his stepdaughter (17).Agricultural show tickets

Lindiwe Mafa of Micho area, Masvingo rural allegedly severely assaulted her husband, Tagwirei Musara (42) and he had to seek medical attention at Masvingo Provincial Hospital. The stepdaughter is Mafa’s from a previous marriage and she stays with Musara and Mafa.

The matter is before Masvingo Magistrate Caroline Tafira Nyoni.

Mafa is denying the charge and alleging that Musara sustained injuries in a bar fight. She is also insisting that they only quarreled and she didn’t assault him over the matter.

The incident happened last Wednesday in Mucheke, Masvingo around 7pm.

Circumstances are that Musara asked Mafa the whereabouts of his stepdaughter whom he had not seen for two consecutive days.Agricultural show tickets

Musara and Mafa had a misunderstanding over the matter. Mafa allegedly picked up a hoe handle and assaulted Musara all over the body. She also allegedly strangled and left him with nail scratch wounds.

The court heard that Mafa has a previous domestic violence conviction against Musara.

Nobunkosi Moyo prosecuted.
