Chitungwiza girl (13) flees aunt, raped twice in one evening
A 13-year-old Chitungwiza girl was raped by two men at different places on the same night after fleeing from her aunt’s disciplinary punishment.
She was first raped in an abandoned house in Manyame Park and then raped by another unidentified man in a bush moments after being left by the first assailant.
Earlier in the day, the girl was alleged to have stolen her aunt’s perfume. She ran away from home after the aunt threatened to punish her for the theft.
At around 8pm she returned home and found that the dogs were outside their kennel and decided to find a place to sleep outside.
At around 10pm, the girl proceeded to Manyame Park.
Along the way she met a man, who allegedly pulled her into an unused house and raped her once without protection.
After the act, the accused person disappeared.
The girl then started roaming around Limbani Shops in Zengeza 5 and later found a place to seat.
Whilst seated, she was approached by two men. One of them pulled her into a nearby bush and raped her once without protection.
She spent the night at Limbani Shops.
At around 9am on October 1, she was approached by a woman who led her to her aunt’s house where she disclosed the rape.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case.
“Police are investigating a rape case involving a minor in Chitungwiza.
“She was escorted to Chitungwiza Central Hospital for medical examination.
“The accused persons were not located,” said Insp Chakanza.
