Kadoma β Chemukute High School, one of Kadomaβs rising boarding institutions, is setting the pace in modern education through a blend of technology, discipline, and all-round learner development.
Tucked away in a serene part of Kadoma, the schoolβs sprawling campus reflects order and safety. The girlsβ hostels, enclosed within a secure durawall and located about two kilometres from the boysβ hostels, ensure privacy, security, and a comfortable boarding environment.
School Head Mr Nowell Mutangi said the institutionβs goal is to provide holistic education that meets modern academic and technological demands.
βWe are on a digital learning trajectory as part of our 2026 vision,β said Mr Mutangi. βOur learners already use laptops under teacher supervision for research and study, and we plan to install interactive boards in classrooms to enhance participation and creativity.β
The schoolβs academic structure allows learners to specialise early according to their interests and strengths. Upon enrolment, learners are screened and placed into one of three units-Science, Commercials, or Arts -a system that ensures tailored learning experiences.
βThis approach helps learners identify and develop their potential from the beginning,β added Mr Mutangi. βWe want them to leave Chemukute ready for university and equipped for the professional world.β
To strengthen academic responsibility, the School Development Committee (SDC) resolved that all boarders should buy their own textbooks, while the school continues to provide key reference and special subject books to support teaching and learning.
Parent Mrs Rumbidzayi Shumba, whose two children attend the school, praised the institutionβs vision and leadership.
βAs parents, we are impressed by how Chemukute balances discipline, technology, and character development,β she said. βAllowing learners to use laptops for study, while maintaining close supervision, shows that the school values both trust and responsibility. Itβs the kind of progressive environment every parent wants.β
Beyond the classroom, Chemukute High is renowned for its commitment to sport, arts, and culture. Learners who excel in athletics, ball games, or performing arts are offered special support and recognition.
βWe believe talent is part of education,β said the Sports Director. βWhen a learner shows potential in sport, we nurture it because excellence is not only academic.β
Looking to broaden its international reach, the school plans to introduce French and Chinese as new languages of study in 2026, a move expected to expand studentsβ cultural awareness and global communication skills.
Currently, Chemukute High offers ZIMSEC and HEXCO examinations, with plans already in motion to introduce Cambridge curricula in the near future.
βOur vision is to make Chemukute High a centre of excellence in both local and international education,β said Mr Mutangi. βWe are preparing learners who can compete and contribute anywhere in the world.β
With a clear roadmap toward digital learning, global education, and holistic development, Chemukute High School is fast emerging as a beacon of innovation and transformation in Kadomaβs education sector ,a place where tradition meets technology, and every learner is inspired to excel. The school also ensures that boarders enjoy well-balanced nutrition, offering 14 meals per week that include three chicken dishes, four beef, two vegetable, two beans, two sour milk, and one sausage meal, reflecting its commitment to learnersβ health and well-being alongside academic excellence.
