Ingezi Hurricanes Academy, – known for their attacking style of play evolving around Mcgiven Alliyah, Shepherd Munetsi, Edmore Kasirori and Malvin Nhubu seemed to have been in control of the game against Waverely Legends – but were unable to convert numerous chances into goals as they found Takudzwa Mahachi,in goals for Legends thwarting most of their raids.

Mahachi proved the stumbling block for Hurricanes strikers with his crucial saves for his team to go to the breather tied at nil –all.

However, it was Ingezi Hurricanes Academy who came out stronger in the second half, thanks to some strategic pep talk made by coach Takunda Magaya at the break. The team’s relentless pressure paid off when Mcgiven Aliyah’s 62min strike found the back of the net, much to the delight of the home crowd.

The goal seemed to spark new life into the Hurricanes as they continued to dominate possession and create chances but Waverely Legends, with a never-say-die attitude, fought hard only to lose by a narrow margin.

In the end, Ingezi Hurricanes Academy’s experience and determination proved to be the deciding factor as they hung on to their one-goal lead until the final whistle.

Ingezi Hurricanes Academy, under the guidance of coach Takunda Magaya, has become a force to be reckoned with in the Mashwest Division Two B West league as the club is fighting for the sole ticket for Division 2B West playoffs slot for promotion into the Northern Region Division One League next season. With their winning combination of experienced players, young talent, and a strong work ethic, they are determined to claim the division title and make a mark in Mashwest Division Two B West football.

In a post-match interview, Hurricanes coach Takunda Magaya said he was a happy man to have collected maximum points at stake.

“I am very happy and I don’t have much to say it was an tightly contested match so am very happy for the results,” said the Hurricanes gaffer.

With Hurricanes coach on cloud nine, his opposite number Legends coach, Fanuel “Shambo” Pingirani blamed his charges loss to bad officiating.

“There was nowhere where we got it wrong, bad officiating carried the day for Hurricanes, there was a clear offside before the goal was scored. I feel hard done by the match officials and Hurricanes have been handed the victory by bad officiating ” said Shambo.
