Zimbabwean woman arrested in UK for reckless driving which killed a cyclist

A young man’s life was tragically extinguished on a Nottingham roadway Saturday morning, after a multi-vehicle collision left him with fatal injuries. As his family now grieves an unthinkable loss, a woman has been arrested and charged in connection with his death.

The devastating incident unfolded just before 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, at the Bobbers Mill Bridge junction on Alfreton Road. Emergency services descended on the scene following reports of the crash, but the 21-year-old motorcyclist, who had suffered serious injuries, was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

His family has been notified and is now being supported by specially trained officers.

An Arrest and a Formal Charge

In a statement, Nottinghamshire police confirmed that the driver of one of the vehicles involved was arrested at the scene.

Nomazwe Moyo, 35, of Eltham Close, Broxtowe, has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

“Multiple vehicles were involved in a collision,” the police statement noted, confirming the charge laid against Ms. Moyo. She is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court today.

Major Road Closed for 11 Hours

The gravity of the collision prompted a massive response, shutting down a critical artery of the city for nearly half a day.

A huge police cordon was erected, taping off a large section of Alfreton Road between Gregory Boulevard and Aspley Lane. The bridge remained closed for approximately 11 hours as investigators worked at the scene.

During the closure, drivers were advised to seek alternative routes, and the bus operator Trentbarton confirmed that one of its services had to be diverted, underscoring the significant disruption caused by the tragic event. – Zimbo LIVE London
