The 2025 Zim Hip Hop Awards have unveiled the nominations for this year’s edition, set to take place on December 12 at Zimbali Gardens in Greendale, Harare.
Topping the nominations is Bling4, who leads the pack with seven nods including Best Male, Best Collaboration, Best Album, Best Live Act, Best Hip Hop Hustle, People’s Choice, and Song of the Year for his hit Boyz Rangu.
Trailing closely are Voltz TJ and Bagga, each earning five nominations. From Bulawayo, Noluntu J received three nominations for Best Female, Video of the Year (Skelemu), and Best Live Act, while rising star Briza earned two nods in the categories Best Newcomer and Hip Hop Personality of the Year for his work with Klyve Beats.
Also highlighted is the Kwela Initiative, curated by Hip-Hop kingpin Asaph, which received two nominations this year.
Speaking on the upcoming awards, Beefy Harrison, director of the Zim Hip Hop Awards, revealed that the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Desmond Chideme aka Stunner.
He also confirmed that the awards will honour the late radio host and promoter Babongile Sikhonjwa with a special honorary award in recognition of his immense contribution to Zimbabwean Hip Hop.
“As the leading platform for Zimbabwean Hip Hop and Africa’s first prestigious Hip Hop Awards, our mission is to use elements of youth culture and media to inspire, motivate, and empower local artists by celebrating their achievements. The year came with many challenges for the culture, but obstacles are part of growth.
“We extend an invitation to all stakeholders to join us in this historic edition. Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much,” Harrison said.
