A shocking incident has rocked the Gokwe community, where a woman has disappeared with $2800 on the day of her introduction to her fiancé’s family.
Mhlatini Jangara, a resident of Mateta 2 under Dhlalambi, Rutope, had brought his fiancée, Rudo Kwicho, to Gokwe Centre to introduce her to his relatives. Rudo, who hails from Kwicho in Gawa, had met Mhlatini’s cousins at a popular spot in Pama Lorry, where they were selling potatoes.
After a successful introduction, the couple proceeded to Mafungautsi, where they spent time together. Mhlatini later returned to the centre where his cousin Grace Jangara’s husband had remained selling potatoes with other boys.
“I was overjoyed that my uncle was finally getting a partner, only to be hit with such a devastating blow,” said a distraught Grace Jangara. “It’s a day we will never forget, but not for the right reasons. We’re appealing to anyone with information to come forward and help us get our money back and bring Rudo to justice.”
The incident has left Mhlatini and his family devastated, and they are appealing to the public for any information that may lead to the recovery of the stolen money.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has been notified, and an investigation is underway.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward and assist the authorities in apprehending Rudo Kwicho and recovering the stolen money.
