Craft Properties (Pvt) Ltd Calls for Partnerships to Build Homes and Uplift Lives of the Underprivileged
By Admire Chitsungo
Craft Properties (Private) Limited, a reputable land developer and construction company, is appealing to philanthropically inclined individuals, organisations, and corporate partners to join hands in a noble initiative aimed at providing decent and dignified housing for vulnerable members of society.
In a strong demonstration of its commitment to social responsibility and inclusive development, Craft Properties (Pvt) Ltd donated 15 residential stands located in Holyland High Density Suburb, Kadoma, to individuals living with disabilities and albinism. The donation, effected on 27 November 2025, reflects the company’s resolve to empower marginalised communities and promote equal access to shelter and development opportunities.
This humanitarian gesture is fully aligned with the National Disability Policy of Zimbabwe, which adopts a human rights–based approach to promoting inclusion and eliminating discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). The policy is anchored in the 2013 Constitution of Zimbabwe and reinforced by Zimbabwe’s ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).
Commending the initiative, Provincial Chairperson for Persons with Disabilities in Mashonaland West Province, Cde Moses Marufu, described the donation as a practical example of inclusive development.
“This intervention by Craft Properties goes beyond policy compliance; it restores dignity and hope to persons with disabilities. Access to land and housing is a fundamental right, and we applaud this gesture which resonates with the spirit and letter of the National Disability Policy and the Constitution of Zimbabwe,” said Cde Marufu.
Housing plans for all 15 stands have already been approved, rendering the properties ready for construction. However, the beneficiaries face serious financial constraints and are unable to mobilise sufficient resources to build their homes.
Addressing this challenge, Craft Properties (Pvt) Ltd Chief Executive Officer, Professor Kudakwashe Taruberekera, emphasised the company’s commitment to seeing the project through to completion.
“As Craft Properties, we believe that development must be inclusive and people-centred. Our vision is to see these families living in safe, decent homes, and we are therefore calling upon partners, corporates, and well-wishers to walk with us in making this dream a reality,” said Professor Taruberekera.
To this end, Craft Properties (Pvt) Ltd is soliciting support to construct three-roomed houses, each complete with toilet and bathroom facilities, on all 15 stands. Contributions may be made in the form of cash donations, building materials, construction support, or professional services such as engineering, plumbing, electrical, and architectural expertise.
“We are ready to provide labour and technical coordination for the project. With collective effort, we can transform these stands into homes that will change lives for generations,” added Professor Taruberekera.
Craft Properties (Pvt) Ltd invites all willing partners to be part of this transformative initiative. Your support will have a lasting impact by restoring dignity, security, and belonging to some of the most vulnerable members of society.
