Plumtree man beats his mother for not inviting him to a lobola event
A Plumtree man allegedly assaulted his mother with a stick after accusing her of excluding him from a lobola ceremony at her home in Phumuza South Village.
Robert Ncube appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware, who granted him US$50 bail.
According to the state, on 13 December last year Ncube confronted his mother, Joyce Ndlovu, claiming she had invited only her relatives to “eat meat” at the lobola function while sidelining him and his own relatives.
Ncube allegedly picked up a stick, insulted his mother and assaulted her. A police report was filed, leading to his arrest.
