Robbery syndicate busted in Lowveld
Police have arrested four suspected armed robbers linked to a string of raids in Triangle, Chiredzi and Mkwasine, Masvingo Province, between January and 15 April 2026.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the arrests of Collen Gweme (28), Probit Njanjure (24), Gift Chibharo (28) and Farai Tazivarose (59) led to the recovery of stolen property, including a kombi, television sets, solar panels and more than a dozen mobile phones.
The ZRP said: “The ZRP confirms the arrest of Collen Gweme (28), Probit Njanjure (24), Gift Chibharo (28) and Farai Tazivarose (59), also known as “Chitichi,” in connection with a spate of armed robbery cases which occurred in Triangle, Chiredzi and Mkwasine, Masvingo between January 2026 and 15 April 2026.
“The suspects were arrested following a tip-off which linked them to the armed robbery cases.
“The arrests led to the recovery of stolen property, including a Nissan Caravan kombi, assorted groceries, three television sets, solar panels and inverters, a lithium battery, a submersible pump, 16 cellphones, three bicycles and other electrical gadgets.” *_-Pindula_*
