Over 300 Illegal Structures Demolished In Whitecliff
More than 300 illegal structures were torn down in the Whitecliff commercial area after the Messenger of Court evicted their owners from land along Bulawayo Road and Ordlands Road. The eviction followed a Harare magistrate’s court order.
Magistrate Talent Mutasa granted the order after Whitecliff owner Eddie Pfugaris Properties applied to evict Rodgewene Mubaiwa and five others. The order had not been carried out since January 2025.
The five others are Alois Mafadzakupa, Tinashe Chatambudza, Brian Hera, Never Machando, Saymore Xhabela and Estrodge Mubaiwa.
Through their lawyers, Nyikadzino Masango and Associates, Eddie Pfugaris Properties said they are the lawful owners of stand number 10139, Whitecliff.
The company said the group moved onto the property in 2020 with permission from the Ministry of Transport. But that permission was withdrawn in a letter dated 8 November 2024.
Eddie Pfugaris Properties general manager Percy Chitima said Mubaiwa and his group built the structures illegally overnight in 2020.
He said the Messenger of Court carried out the eviction order on Thursday.
