Mutare woman killed by husband for leaving baby home whilst enjoying herself at a bar

Police in Mutare are investigating the death of a 41-year-old woman following an alleged domestic violence incident in Chikanga.

The deceased, identified as Samantha Chuma, reportedly died after an altercation with her husband, Tawanda Muradzikwa, 34, on Wednesday night.

According to reports, Chuma had left her four-month-old baby in the care of her older children before going to a local bar in Chikanga.

It is alleged that when Muradzikwa returned home and found the infant crying, he went to the bar to confront his wife.

Witnesses claim another resident later brought the baby to the bar, where Chuma breastfed the child before leaving with her husband.

Reports indicate that an argument allegedly continued after the couple returned home.

Authorities suspect that the dispute escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in Chuma’s death.

Neighbours reportedly alleged that Muradzikwa had a history of abusing his wife, although police have not officially confirmed those claims.

The couple’s children are currently being cared for by relatives while investigations continue.
