ZRP launches manhunt for Tafadzwa Nelton Matanhuse (32) of Chiredzi

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) have launched a manhunt for Tafadzwa Nelton Matanhuse (32) of Chiredzi, who is wanted for questioning after appearing in a viral video in which he questioned why some individuals are given expensive vehicles while ordinary citizens continue to struggle following the recent demolition of vendor stalls in the area though police have not yet specified the exact charges he may face; anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest station or the National Complaints Desk.

The video comes after recent demolitions of vendor stalls in Chiredzi, where traders had set up shops in an area the council said was not meant for selling. Many vendors lost their goods and structures.

In the video, Matanhuse directly names two prominent figures including Wicknell Chivayo as he speaks about the demolitions. He says:

“Muvaudze kuti inini Tafadzwa ngavauye vandiuraye. Chavanogona kupa munhu aqua GD6 but vanhu ava vari kutambura.”

He also questions why some people are given expensive cars while ordinary citizens are struggling to get by.

In the clip, he makes several direct challenges to the President and the businessman, including a remark that could be seen as threatening. He also appears to accuse them of being behind the demolitions.

Police have not said what charges he faces, but his words could possibly fall under laws against undermining the authority of the President or causing public disorder.
