G & T dealt a major blow to Harare City’s MCM Northern Region Division One League title ambitions after edging the league leaders 1-0 at Rimuka Stadium on Sunday, a result that saw Black Rhinos climb to the top of the table with a two points advantage.

A solitary strike by Yesi Seige in the 48th minutes from a Panashe Mushonga pass proved the difference in a tightly contested encounter, with the forward finding the back of the net to condemn Harare City defeat that ended their stay at the summit of the standings.

The hosts defended resolutely while creating the better scoring opportunities, eventually breaking the deadlock through Seige, whose clinical finish, past Nedrick Madeya,in goals for Harare City, to sent their home supporters into celebration.

Despite dominating possession for long spells after falling behind, Harare City struggled to penetrate G & T’s disciplined defensive line. The visitors threw numbers forward in the closing stages in search of an equaliser, but G & T held firm to secure a priceless three points.
