NetOne Launches ‘Freedom Bundles’ to Give Every Zimbabwean More Value and Connectivity

By Desire Tshuma

HARARE — NetOne has unveiled new Freedom Bundles, a customer-focused offering it says is designed to make communication more affordable, flexible and meaningful for every Zimbabwean.

The State-owned mobile operator said the bundles were inspired by a simple truth: communication brings people together and creates opportunity. For a parent, a call confirms a child’s safe arrival at school. For a small business, a text secures a customer. For a student in a rural area, a few megabytes of data open access to learning materials.

“At NetOne, we believe that communication should never be a barrier to opportunity. It should be an enabler of dreams, aspirations and progress,” the company said.

The Freedom Bundles are a transformation of the popular Khuluma 24/7 package. While keeping affordability at the core, NetOne has added SMS and data benefits to create a complete communication experience.

Priced from US$0.20 up to US$12, the bundles give customers flexibility to choose a package that matches their needs and budget. NetOne said the offering is tailored for students preparing for exams, farmers seeking market information, entrepreneurs growing businesses, and families staying connected across provinces and borders.

Alongside the Freedom Bundles, NetOne has enhanced its Dollar-A-Day (DAD) Bundleas a standalone daily package. For US$1, customers now get:
85 On-Net Minutes, 5 Cross-Net Minutes, 70 Off-Peak Minutes, 160 Total Minutes, and 15 SMSs.

The operator said the package is intended to keep customers connected throughout the day for family check-ins, business, community coordination, or staying in touch with friends.

NetOne framed the launch beyond products, linking it to Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 and National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2). It said affordable communication is critical for economic growth, digital inclusion, education, healthcare and entrepreneurship.

“As a proudly Zimbabwean telecommunications operator, NetOne remains committed to connecting communities, empowering citizens and driving innovation that improves lives,” the company said.

Customers can activate the Freedom Bundles by dialling *171# purchasing through OneMoney, using airtime and electronic recharge channels, or visiting any NetOne shop, franchise or authorised agent nationwide.

NetOne described the Freedom Bundles as more than a product. “They are a promise. A promise to continue delivering affordable, accessible and meaningful connectivity to every Zimbabwean, everywhere,” it said.
