Life Technical Training Institute Celebrates 3rd Graduation and Lays Foundation for the Future

Life Technical Training Institute is set to mark another historic milestone with its 3rd Graduation Ceremony and Ground Breaking Ceremony on 14 August 2026 at the Institutional Stand. The dual event brings together celebration and vision, as the institute honors its latest cohort of graduates while officially launching the next phase of campus expansion.

Held under the theme _“Skills for Employment, Innovation for Growth, Towards Vision 2030”_, the ceremony reflects LTTI’s commitment to producing job-ready graduates and building infrastructure that will support Zimbabwe’s long-term development goals. With the motto “Better skill, better life” at its core, the institute continues to position technical and vocational training as a driver of employment, entrepreneurship, and national progress.

According to the Founder and Director, Andrew Mugabe, the institute is intentionally aligning its work with national priorities. “We are preparing for a dual celebration of graduation and the ground breaking ceremony. As an institution, we are working in line with Vision 2030 where no one and no place is left behind,” Mugabe said.

This year’s graduation marks the third group of students to complete their studies at LTTI since its establishment. The 3rd cohort represents young men and women trained across various technical, vocational, and professional disciplines designed to meet industry demand. From practical trades to innovation-driven programs, graduates leave the institute equipped not just with certificates, but with hands-on competencies that directly translate to workplace opportunities.

“These students have worked hard, and they are ready,” said a senior lecturer at LTTI. “Our focus has always been to ensure that when our graduates walk out of these doors, they can create jobs, secure employment, and contribute meaningfully to the economy.” For many of the graduands, the day is the culmination of months of practical training, assessments, and personal growth.

The theme _“Skills for Employment, Innovation for Growth, Towards Vision 2030”_ speaks directly to Zimbabwe’s national development agenda. LTTI has aligned its curriculum to prioritize skills that are relevant to current labor market needs while also encouraging innovation and self-reliance.

Mugabe emphasized that the institute’s mandate goes beyond classroom training. “Vision 2030 calls for inclusive growth. At LTTI, we believe that skills development is the bridge. No community should be left behind, and no young person should be left without an opportunity to learn a skill that can transform their life,” he said.

Through partnerships with industry, attachment programs, and entrepreneurship training, the institute ensures students do not just learn theory. They build, design, repair, and create solutions. This approach is intended to reduce the skills gap and produce graduates who can adapt to a changing economy and contribute to Vision 2030’s goal of an empowered, industrialized nation.

Alongside the graduation, LTTI will conduct a ground breaking ceremony to signal the start of major infrastructure development at the Institutional Stand. The new facilities are expected to expand classroom space, workshops, and technical labs, allowing the institute to enroll more students and introduce new programs.

For Mugabe, the ground breaking is symbolic of the institute’s growth and commitment to access. “This ground breaking represents our promise to expand opportunities. We are building infrastructure that will allow us to reach more students, from more places, so that development is not limited to a few,” he stated.

This expansion is critical. As demand for technical skills grows, LTTI is responding by creating an environment that supports modern training methods and larger student intakes. For the surrounding community, the development also means new opportunities for employment during construction and for skills training afterwarife.

Technical Training Institute offers practical, skills-based training in Motor Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Metal Fabrication, Garment Making, Tourism & Hospitality, Nurse Aid, and Bakers Studies to prepare students for employment and entrepreneurship.

The event is expected to host government officials, industry partners, parents, and community leaders. A guest speaker is anticipated to address the role of technical education in national development. The combination of graduating a new cohort and breaking ground on new infrastructure shows LTTI’s two-pronged approach: invest in people, and invest in the spaces that shape them. As Zimbabwe works toward Vision 2030, institutions like LTTI play a central role in ensuring the workforce is skilled, innovative, and ready. Plans are already underway to introduce more industry-aligned programs and strengthen graduate support for job placement and entrepreneurship.
