Man arrested for ‘nurse’ impersonation at Sally Mugabe hospital
A 38-YEAR-OLD man was arrested at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital in Harare after he was allegedly caught masquerading as a nurse.
The suspect, identified as Godwin Sanyika, was arrested by Zimbabwe Republic Police officers in connection with a case of impersonation.
According to police, Sanyika was allegedly wearing a blue uniform associated with State Registered General Nurses when he was apprehended at the hospital.
Police reportedly recovered several medical supplies from his possession, including different types of medication, gauze swabs, needles and syringes.
The circumstances surrounding his presence at the hospital and how he allegedly gained access to the premises are yet to be established.
Police are also expected to investigate the motive behind the alleged impersonation and how the suspect came into possession of the medical supplies.
The case remains under investigation, with further details expected as police continue probing the matter.
Authorities have previously warned members of the public against impersonating health workers, as such conduct can endanger patients and undermine confidence in the health system.
