15-year-old wife battling for life after being stabbed by husband who then kills himself

A teenage woman is battling for her life in hospital after she was stabbed in her abdomen by her husband on Sunday for rejecting his demands for sex.

Tafadzwa Hwata, 22, of Chizhanje in Mabvuku, fled after he allegedly stabbed his wife, Noster Mudawarima, who is only 15.

Tafadzwa was yesterday found dead after downing rat poison.

Tafadzwa is alleged to have entered into a room, where Noster was sleeping, and demanded to have sexual intercourse with her.

A dispute arose between the two.

Tafadzwa allegedly used a knife to stab Noster once in the stomach and her intestines came out through the wound. Tafadzwa’s mother, Irene Kawanda, told Zimpapers that the two have been living as husband and wife since January.

“Noster eloped to my son in January this year but she was not pregnant.

“I tried in vain to ask the two to wait and marry each other when Noster turns 18 but the two insisted that they could not wait any longer.

“I was shocked about the stabbing of my daughter in-law and she is responding well to treatment at Parirenyatwa Hospital.

“Upon returning from visiting my daughter-in-law we were all shocked to hear that Tafadzwa was found dead kumasowe uko hanzi akanwa mushonga wemakonzo,” said Irene.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi could not be reached for comment.

However, an attempted murder case and sex with a minor case are under investigation at Mabvuku Police Station under RRB 6944409. *_-H-Metro_*
