Man dies after alleged attack by lover’s husband

A 46-year-old man died in hospital after he was allegedly assaulted by his girlfriend’s husband, who reportedly found them sleeping together at his homestead in Shurugwi.

Anyway Zhuwawo, of Mapfumo Village under Chief Nhegomo in Murehwa, was allegedly attacked at Dendere homestead in Dendere Village under Chief Banga on October 11, 2026, at around 10pm.

Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident and appealed for information on the whereabouts of the suspect, Moreblessing Dendere.

“It is alleged that the now deceased Anyway Zhuwawo had put up for the night at his girlfriend Kuitakwashe Musaigwa’s place while her husband Moreblessing Dendere was away on a visit to Mutare.

“The husband returned without communicating with the wife and found the two sleeping in the bedroom, where he beat Zhuwawo heavily.” said Mahoko.

Dendere allegedly used an unknown blunt object to assault Zhuwawo, who sustained head injuries and a broken ankle.

Zhuwawo reportedly escaped naked and went to his place of residence before being taken to Gamwa Clinic the following day.

He was later transferred to Shurugwi District Hospital, where he later succumbed to the injuries. *_-Masvingo Mirror_*
