Ndipeiwo Bota Nhasi Futi: Harare man in court for seeking lula lula daily from his ex-wife’s sister

A Harare woman is seeking refuge from the unwanted advances of her sisterโ€™s ex-husband, who has been making uninvited visits to her home, demanding sex almost on a daily basis.

Abigail Kafa, the victim of this harassment, approached the Harare Civil Court, seeking a peace order against Shepherd Hide, who she claims has been subjecting her to insults and sexual abuse.

Kafa, in her plea to the court, described Hideโ€™s behaviour as a constant source of fear and distress.

โ€œHe comes over to my house when he wants sex. When I refuse, he insults and assaults me. He is my sisterโ€™s ex-husband,โ€ she told the magistrate.

The situation has escalated to the point where Hide has threatened Kafa with violence, making chilling pronouncements about her safety.

โ€œHe threatens to break me into pieces so that the police will not be able to find my body,โ€ she said, highlighting the seriousness of the threats.

Hide, however, seemed to downplay the severity of his actions, questioning the courtโ€™s authority to restrict his behaviour.

โ€œI want the court to make me understand if a married woman is allowed to do whatever she pleases,โ€ he said, seemingly justifying his actions.

He went on to state, โ€œI have no issues with the court granting her a peace order but itโ€™s my right to do whatever I please on her.โ€

Magistrate Meenal Naratom acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and granted the peace order and instructed Hide to cease his abusive behaviour of demanding sex from Kafa on a daily basis.
