Super Size Me Africa Zimbabwe To Promote Beauty Of Heavily Built Women In Zimbabwe And Abroad

Harare – The Super Size Me Africa Zimbabwe event was launched yesterday, May 25, 2025, at the Spitzkop Leisure Centre in Harare.

The groundbreaking event aims to promote body positivity, self-love, and inclusivity for women of all shapes and sizes. Empowering Plus-Size Women, the event featured a dynamic day of fashion, wellness, music, entrepreneurship, and cultural celebration, honoring plus-size women and promoting a broader definition of beauty.

There were some key activities Plus-Size Modelling Showcase highlighting designs from local and international talent, demonstrating the elegance and versatility of curvy silhouettes. Also Wellness and Team-Building sessions offering guests self-care and confidence-building exercises led by mental health professionals and life coaches were done during the launch.

Lots of activities were done including live music and performances featuring Afrobeat dance sessions, poetry readings, and live music performances from emerging Zimbabwean artists.

Entrepreneurship talks covering branding, marketing and financial growth, empowering creatives and business owners were also among the key events.

The event was designed for people of all ages and backgrounds, with a designated kids’ zone providing fun and safe activities for children.

This very important initiative was founded by entrepreneur Alice Chinya. ” Super Size Me Africa Zimbabwe aims to challenge narrow beauty standards, promote self-love, and foster inclusivity, ensuring every woman feels confident, visible, and proud of herself,” explained Alice Chinya, the founder of Super Size Me Africa Zimbabwe.

“Super Size Me Africa Zimbabwe is not just an event — it’s a movement that challenges stereotypes, addresses social bias, and brings visibility, dignity, and pride to women who have long been sidelined in mainstream conversations.”

“It aims to travel across Zimbabwe, building confidence and creating inclusive spaces for curvy women — from Harare to Bulawayo, Beitbridge to Kariba — making sure no curve is left behind,” said Alice Chinya.
