CBZ 2025 Schools Debate Tournament Launched At Dominican Convent High School

Harare – “Debate sharpens critical thinking, cultivates research and public speaking skills and teaches young people to engage respectfully with ideas they may not agree on,” Sister Kudzai Mutsure, Head of Dominican Convent High School said Thursday at the launch of the 2025 CBZ Schools Debate Tournament today at the school.

The prestigious tournament, established in 2023 to groom and sharpens the future leaders on diplomacy, dialogue and development across all provinces in Zimbabwe, is being sponsored by CBZ Holdings at a tune of US$30 000, an increase from the previous US$25 000 in 2023 when it was established.
Winners of the tournament will receive US$1000 for the first winner, with second winners getting US$750 and the last and third winner will get US$500 as schools.
The best speaker is going to get $250 while the second placed speaker is goes home $150 richer. The organising partner Dominican Convent High School has proudly taken the lead in coordinating logistics, academic resources and mentorship throughout the journey.

We have worked tirelessly to ensure exclusivity, fairness and academic excellence, principles that define who we are as a school and what this tournament stands for. We have dedicated students, alumni and student volunteers working behind the scenes to deliver a world class experience for all participants,” said SR Mutsure.
