GRANDDAD, 86, RAPES TWELVE-YEAR-OLD GIRL

AN 86-year-old Christon Bank man was on Sunday arrested for raping his neighbour’s daughter.

Mario Gwekwere is alleged to have raped the girl, 12, once without protection when she was sent to his house by her mother to borrow maize meal.

Mario ordered the girl to go into his room and bring him a knife which was on top of a bucket.

She entered into the room and the accused followed her and raped her.

After the rape, Mario threatened to harm her if she ever disclosed the matter to anyone.

The girl disclosed the rape leading to the arrest of Mario.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the arrest.

“Police arrested a Christon Bank man for rape.

“The complainant, aged 12, was escorted to Parirenyatwa Hospital for medical examination. “Investigations are continuing,” said Insp Chakanza.
