In a thrilling match that showcased exceptional skill and determination, Ingezi Hurricanes Academy secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Brompton FC, thanks to a brilliant performance from man of the moment striker Macgiven Aliya who scored a brace. This win not only highlighted Aliya’s talent but also demonstrates the team’s growing strength and cohesion, solidifying their position as a formidable force and propelled the team to second position in the Mashonaland West Division 2B West league match played at Brompton Mine on Sunday.
Macgiven Aliya was the standout performer for Ingezi Hurricanes Academy, scoring both goals in the 35th minutes and in the 80th minutes in a display of skill and precision that left the Brompton FC defense struggling to contain him. He scored one goal in each half, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure and capitalise on scoring opportunities. His relentless pressure and clever movement created opportunities that his teammates were able to capitalize on, and his clinical finishing sealed the win for Ingezi Hurricanes.
Despite the loss, Brompton FC’s goalkeeper Wonderful Zulu was a bright spot for his team, pulling off brilliant saves to deny Ingezi Hurricanes Academy strikers from scoring more goals. The visitors’ victory propels them to second place on the log with 53 points, putting them in a strong position to challenge for the top spot. They now trail league leaders Barcelona Kadoma, who sit atop the table with 56 points following their 1-1 draw against Kadoma City FC.
