Surrey Abattoir Driver Dies in Masvingo–Beitbridge Road Crash: ZRP Confirms
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a fatal road traffic accident involving a meat-laden truck that went viral on social media.
The crash occurred yesterday at around 9AM near the 115km peg along the Masvingo–Beitbridge Road after a Howo tipper truck collided head-on with a Surrey Abattoir truck.
Both drivers sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Neshuro Hospital.
Police said the Surrey Abattoir driver died upon admission, while the other driver remains hospitalised.
ZRP urged motorists to exercise extreme caution as investigations into the accident continue.
