Zimbabwe Burial Society (Cape Town) Formed To Ease Bodies Repatriation

A non-profit making organization based in South Africa, Zimbabwe Burial Society(Cape Town) with a membership of more than 20 000 has urges all Zimbabweans in South Africa to come aboard the organization so as to lessen the burden of repratiating a relative back home for a descent burial.
The call was made by the organization’s leadership in Kadoma during the burial of Esther Marowa,former ZBS founding Administrator,, who passed on in Athlone, Cape Town, South Africa recently.
In an interview with the media at Rimuka Cemetery, Nichodimus Shuku, Zimbabwe Burial Society Secretary General,he said that they formed the organization during the height of COVID-19,in 2020 after realizing the hardships that we’re being faced by families in repratiating a relative’s body from South Africa to be laid to rest back home in Zimbabwe.
“Zimbabwe Burial Society( Cape Town) is non-profit making organization based in Cape Town, South Africa and we founded it in 2020, during the height of Covid-19 after realizing the hardships faced by families in repratiating their relative who would have passed on in South Africa,we came together in an effort to pool our resources in order to lessen the burden of ferrying the body back home for a descent burial and so far we have assisted more than 270 Bodies home for burial across the country,
Membership is open to all and everyone in South Africa we make contributions only when one of our member passes on but if one chooses to make a one-off payment,we allow it but it will be deducted when a member passes on and we have an FNB account for transparency and accountability for our members!” said Shuku, ZBS Secretary General.
Macree Chigwereve, Zimbabwe Burial Society(Cape Town) Chaplin also urged Zimbabweans in South Africa to join the organization due to its affordability.
Our organization is very affordable,one can become a member by paying only 10 rands,we’re different from other burial societies which makes monthly subscriptions, with only 10 rands one would be a member from anywhere in South Africa!”said Chaplin Macree Chigwereve.
The Zimbabwe Burial Society (Cape Town) has now spread to Gauteng Province, Johannesburg to cover Pretoria and surrounding areas.
Speaking to the media,Vongai Zhou urged Zimbabweans in Gauteng Province, Johannesburg to come aboard the organization.
“I urge those in Gauteng Province to be members of Zimbabwe Burial Society( Cape Town),it’s the only burial society which is affordable to repatriate our beloved departed relatives home for a descent burial!” urged Gauteng Province ZBS Administrator.
A Zimbabwe Burial Society (Cape Town) Administrator, Melody Muchafa, urged those in Kadoma to urge their relatives and friends to join Zimbabwe Burial Society.
“Zimbabwe Burial Society (Cape Town) is here for us all in Zimbabwe and South Africa,relay this message that ZBS is for us,no Zimbabwean who passes on in South Africa be laid to rest in a foreign country,the body must be repeated home!”said Melody Muchafa.
Zimbabwe Burial Society (Cape Town ) works with some local funeral service providers in delivering if one had earlier a funeral policy.
