Police officers attacked by mob in Dema on Christmas Day
Three men who incited a mob to attack police officers at Dema Business Centre, Chief Seke, on Christmas Day have each been fined US$150 by the Chitungwiza Magistrates Court.
Jamaine Rubatika (42), Wisdom Rubatika (50) and Robson Madziva (32) were found guilty of disturbing the peace by confronting police during a lawful patrol, inciting a mob, and taking part in violent actions that damaged a police vehicle and injured an officer.
They were ordered to pay a US$150 fine each or face one month in prison if they fail to pay. Five months of their sentence were suspended on condition of good behaviour.
