Presidential Advisor’s Daughter Tinotenda Tungwarara to Launch Fashion Brand “Manhanha Clothing” Soon
Seventeen-year-old entrepreneur Tinotenda Tungwarara has unveiled a new fashion label, Manhanha Clothing, in what appears to be a direct response to public backlash over her widely discussed US$8,000 one-day shopping spree.
Tinotenda, who owns two businesses—Tap and Go and Prevail Supermarket—is the daughter of Presidential Advisor Paul Tungwarara.
Her spending spree drew intense online criticism, with social media users mockingly coining the term “Manhanha jeans,” a reference to her frequent appearance in high-end denim skirts.
Tino is also the owner of all Tap and Go taxis in Zimbabwe

Presidential Special Adviser Paul Tungwarara on Saturday stood firm on remarks he made in Marange last week, describing them as a “good fight” despite backlash from some ruling party members who believe they were being indirectly targeted.
Although Tungwarara did not name anyone, his comments have been widely interpreted as being aimed at businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei, who has previously been reported to harbour presidential ambitions.
Addressing ZANU PF supporters during the disbursement of the Presidential Constituency Empowerment Fund at Nyajezi Secondary School in Nyanga South, Manicaland Province, Tungwarara acknowledged that his earlier speech had unsettled some individuals within the party.
“I was in Marange last week, and I spoke what I spoke; and that did not go down well with some people with ambition. I did not mention anyone’s name, but I spoke about myself,” he said.
Tungwarara said his remarks, in which he accused certain individuals of attempting to use money to buy their way into the presidency, had been misinterpreted and sensationalised.
“What I said broke the internet, and names were thrown out. I did not mention anyone, but myself, and there are going to be fights for Vision 2030,” he said. “We shall fight, especially here in Manicaland, for Vision 2030 to be a reality.”
Striking a defiant tone, Tungwarara said he was prepared to confront internal opposition and would not be intimidated. “I am ready to die today; we need order in the party, and I am not afraid of anyone,” he declared.
He went on to accuse his critics of exhibiting the same conduct as fugitive war veteran Blessed Runesu Geza, whom he said he openly challenged when others remained silent.
“We will fight to ensure that President Mnangagwa remains in power until 2030 because it is good for the people,” Tungwarara said.
“When Geza rose up and started attacking the President, many people went into their cocoons.”
He added: “I issued a press statement rebuking him, but many cadres who are now showing ambition were in their shells. I came out in the open and fought Geza while you were quiet.”
Tungwarara said attempts to challenge him now were misplaced.
“Now that Geza is finished, and we told you not to be ambitious, you now want to dare me,” he said. “The same spirit of Geza is manifesting among some of us.”
He stressed that his comments were motivated by a desire to maintain unity within the party, particularly in his home province. “I make these statements in Manicaland because this is my home; we do not want divisions here,” he said.
Tungwarara also took aim at what he described as “fake prophets,” accusing them of attacking him following his remarks about wealthy individuals within ZANU PF allegedly angling for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s position.
Party insiders suggested the remarks were directed at self-styled prophet Uebert Angel, who recently issued what he termed a prophecy concerning ZANU PF’s succession politics.
Meanwhile, Tungwarara has been recommended for co-option into the ZANU PF Central Committee by the Manicaland provincial leadership.
