Harare – The once-respected prophet and founder of PHD Ministries, Walter Magaya, is set to face the music. The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) has confirmed that Magaya will stand trial on February 16, 2026, for four counts of rape, with allegations spanning over seven years.

The allegations against Magaya are disturbing, with four women coming forward to accuse him of rape, abuse of power, and manipulation. The victims, aged between 21 and 32, claim that Magaya used his position of authority to exploit and harm them.

But Magaya’s troubles don’t end there. His wife, Tendai, is facing fraud charges related to a dodgy land deal, while his trusted bodyguard, Tapiwa Felix Chikondo, was arrested for allegedly trying to intimidate a witness and obstruct justice.

The NPAZ has made it clear that they will not be swayed by Magaya’s influential status. “Our stance in 2026 is clear: cases involving high-profile individuals will be handled without fear or favour,” said an NPAZ spokesperson.

As the trial date approaches, many are left wondering how a man of such power and influence could fall so far. Magaya’s once-loyal followers are now questioning everything they thought they knew about their leader.

The trial is set to be a test of Zimbabwe’s justice system, with the NPAZ determined to get justice for the victims. For Magaya, the writing is on the wall – his reputation lies in tatters, and his freedom hangs in the balance.
