Police intensify blitz against vehicle owners

📍📍📍📍📍📍📍📍📍📍📍📍📍📍📍📍

Good evening commanders. Following a virtual meeting held today at 1600hrs and chaired by SSO Operations, the following issues were raised

1. Roadblocks to be headed by Chief Supt or Supt
2. Roadblocks to be constituted of CID, PI, SU, DUB, Traffic, and drivers who will drive the impounded vehicles to places of safety.
3. All the impounded vehicles are to be taken to safe places.
4. Vehicles with illegal fittings ( The owner must remove the fittings) and the fittings should be confiscated. S/he then pays a fine and the vehicle given back to him/her.
5. If the owner is unable to remove the fittings on his or her own, the vehicle must be impounded whilst they arrange for the removal of the fittings.
NB: please take note that the removed illegal fittings should be confiscated and should be produced if requested by inspecting teams.
6. Roadblock schedules to be strictly adhered to
7. From tomorrow 9 March teams from PGHQ will be dispatched to Provinces to complement the supervisory role.
8. Blitz should be carried out at shopping centres to arrest plateless vehicles, motor cycles, and vehicles with illegal fittings
9. For members of the public who fail to display their plates whilst they have them in their vehicles, an investigation must be carried out to find out why they dont want to display the plates
10. Any person who is arrested three times for failure to display plates will have the car impounded
11. Newly imported vehicles whose TIPs have expired should be impounded. There is no shortage of plates at CVR
12. Nil return is unacceptable. Otherwise it should be accompanied by a report by the Dispol explaining why there was no arrest during a period of 24 hours.

Commanders are hereby directed to abide by the above listed instructions from PGHQ Operations. Let’s not be found wanting. All the best.🥰
