Human hearts, Lungs Discovered in Soweto House Raid

South African police have arrested two men after recovering a hijacked government vehicle and uncovering what are believed to be human hearts and lungs at a property in Naledi, Soweto.

According to the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), officers from the Tactical Response Unit made the grisly discovery while following up on information about a vehicle allegedly being stripped at the house.

Police said officers arrived at the property and found the gate open. After receiving no response at the front door, they entered the house and found a male suspect inside. The suspect reportedly told officers that the vehicle in question was in the garage and belonged to the homeowner.

A search of the garage led to the recovery of a white Volkswagen Caddy belonging to South Africa’s National Department of Health. A verification check confirmed that the vehicle had been hijacked and was already being dismantled.

Officers continued searching the property and discovered a second suspect hiding in the backyard. Both men were immediately arrested.

The operation took a shocking turn when police discovered two buckets allegedly containing human organs, believed to be hearts and lungs, elsewhere on the property.

The suspects were taken into custody and detained at Naledi Police Station, where they are facing charges of possession of a hijacked vehicle and possession of human organs.

Police have since launched investigations to determine the origin of the organs and to locate the homeowner linked to the property.
