Kadoma Residents To Access Free Family Planning Services

The City of Kadoma, in partnership with Population Services Zimbabwe, will roll out a free family planning outreach program from Monday, 27 July to Friday, 31 July 2026. The 5-day initiative is designed to bring reproductive health services directly to communities, with teams stationed at clinics, halls, and busy shopping areas across the city.
By taking services out of hospitals and into neighborhoods, organizers hope to make family planning more accessible, convenient, and stigma-free for residents in Chemukute, Waverly, Ingezi, Rimuka, and Pixie. The outreach was announced in a public notice dated 22 July 2026 by Town Clerk M. Dondo and aligns with the City’s Vision 2030 of becoming “A smart service sanctuary.”
The outreach is a joint effort between the City of Kadoma and Population Services Zimbabwe. The partnership seeks to expand access to family planning information and services, particularly for residents who face challenges traveling to central health facilities or who prefer community-based points of service.
City of Kadoma Communication Manager, *Walter Ndlovu*, confirmed the partnership and said the move is part of broader efforts to improve public health delivery.
“This partnership with Population Services Zimbabwe is about bringing services closer to the people. We want to ensure that every resident, regardless of where they live, has access to free and reliable family planning information and services,” Ndlovu said.
“We are urging all residents to visit their nearest clinics and shops on the dates notified. Let us take advantage of this opportunity to prioritize our health and wellbeing as families and as a community,” he added.
The City notes that meeting residents where they are — at clinics and shops — can help increase awareness, answer questions, and provide services in familiar, high-traffic locations.
Services will be offered free of charge and will move to a new area each day: Monday, 27 July 2026 the team will be at Chemukute Clinic & Chemukute Shops , Tuesday, 28 July 2026*: Waverly Clinic & Waverly Hall, Wednesday, 29 July 2026*: Ingezi Clinic, Victory Park, Cherrybank & Cherryview and on Thursday, 30 July 2026 they will be at Rimuka Maternity, Machipisa & Mutonga Shops SQ residents and on the last day Friday, 31 July 2026 the team will be at Pixie Combie Shops.
Residents are encouraged to attend on the day designated for their area. By including both clinical sites and community spaces like halls and shops, the program aims to reach working people, students, and families who may not otherwise seek services during regular clinic hours.
The week-long free family planning outreach represents a practical step toward bringing essential health services closer to the people who need them. By covering five different areas in five days, the City of Kadoma and PSZ are making it easier for residents to access information, counseling, and services without cost or long travel.
According to Ndlovu, community participation will be key to the success of the program. “We are calling on community leaders, churches, and residents to spread the word. When we work together, we build a healthier Kadoma for everyone,” he said.
He also said such initiatives like this are central to improving community health outcomes and supporting families. All Kadoma residents are urged to take advantage of the outreach on their scheduled day.
