Zimbabwean artist Portia Zvavahera sets new auction record at Christie’s in London
Zimbabwean artist Portia Zvavahera has set a new auction record after her painting This is where I travelled [3] sold for £307,200 (approximately US$407,000) at Christie’s in London on October 14, 2026.
The sale surpasses her previous auction record of US$355,600, set in New York in 2023, marking another major milestone for the Zimbabwean artist on the international art scene.
Her achievement is a powerful reminder of the depth of African creative talent and its ability to command recognition in the world’s leading art markets.
