Chamisa outlines pathway to citizens government
Citizens leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has outlined his vision for building a new political movement capable of challenging Zimbabwe’s existing political establishment, identifying grassroots mobilisation, organisational discipline and public trust as key pillars of the proposed Citizens Government.
In a statement on Friday, Chamisa said the immediate priority was to establish a disciplined, citizen-led movement with strong grassroots foundations, institutional credibility and a clearly defined national vision.
He said Zimbabwe needed a credible and well-organised alternative capable of bringing citizens together and translating their aspirations into a political reality.
“The task of the day is to evolve a formidable, credible, organised and nationally rooted alternative, one capable of uniting citizens’ energy, restoring public confidence and translating collective aspiration into a viable pathway to a CITIZENS GOVERNMENT & CITIZENS REPUBLIC in our lifetime,” Chamisa said.
He described the initiative as a generational responsibility, suggesting that the movement’s success would depend on its ability to establish a nationwide presence and build lasting relationships with ordinary citizens.
“This is our generational mandate. We’re everywhere,” he said.
Chamisa also indicated that progress was being made towards developing the new political project, using the hashtag #CHAPWATI
The opposition leader’s latest remarks come as he continues to articulate his vision for a new political direction centred on citizen participation, grassroots organisation and the creation of an alternative governing framework.
He concluded his message with the hashtags #TheNewWay, #FreshStart and #NewCitizensMovement, signalling the branding surrounding the emerging political initiative. *_-ZimEye_*
