ZAOGA FIF Ministries is planning a grand send-off for its founder, Archbishop Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti, who passed away on July 5 at the age of 100. The church has announced that the funeral arrangements will remain private but has organized celebrations to be held from Friday, August 4, to Sunday, August 6.
Believers will have the opportunity to pay their respects at the AMFCC pastoral centre in Glen View from tomorrow until Friday. However, there will be no public gathering or church services at AMFCC, and the programs will only be held during the day while ushers and security personnel guide the proceedings.
The church declared 30 days of mourning, which end this Saturday. Believers will pay their last respects during the day and then converge for an all-night vigil at the City Sports Centre on Friday, culminating in a two-day gathering at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.
Archbishop Guti founded ZAOGA FIF Ministries more than six decades ago and took his work to 168 nations, practicing as a preacher for 85 years. He and his wife, Eunah Guti, founded the Ezekiel Guti University, Mbuya Dorcas Hospital, AMFCC Bible School, Ezekiel TV, The Grange School, and Ezekiel Guti Dressmaking School, among others.
Several delegates, including the African Christian Council International, international faith-based preachers, and other religious leaders, are expected to pay their last respects to the late Archbishop Guti.
