Election observer missions flock to Zimbabwe

Election observer teams for the upcoming national harmonized general elections started flocking into the country last week with at least, five teams jetting in, a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs shows.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade wishes to advise of the arrival of several Elections Observer Missions in Zimbabwe ahead of the 23 August Harmonised General Elections.”
SADC Election Observer Mission led by Mr Never Sekwila Mumba (Zambia)
The Commonwealth Election Observer Mission led by Ms Amina Mohammed
also came into the country five days ago in the morning of 16 August 2023.
His Excellency Joaquim Alberto Chissano followed suit as he touched down on the afternoon of the same day as the Commonwealth team.
Head of AU Elections Observer Mission H.E Goodluck Jonathan
arrived in the country on Saturday.
Member of the Panel of the Wise H.E Domitien Ndayizeye arrives today.
All the observer teams and individuals came into the country via
Robert Mugabe International Airport .
The State of Palestine also announced through the Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Amb. Dr. Tamer Almassri that a delegation came into the country earlier today.

The high level delegation from the State of Palestine comprises of Palestinian independent agencies led by the CEO of the Palestine Central Elections Commission, Mr Hisham Kuhail and also includes two Palestine diplomats from the Embassy in Harare.
