Fastjet adds additional daily flights between Johannesburg and Bulawayo
BULAWAYO – FastJet introduced additional flight frequencies from Bulawayo’s Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Monday, in time for the busy Christmas holidays travel.
The airline, which previously only had evening flights between the two cities, has added morning flights from Monday to Friday, which will see it shuttling between the two cities twice daily.
It will only fly the evening service on weekends.
The additional weekday morning service will give travellers the option of a day trip, said Fastjet spokesman Nunurai Ndawana.
“We continue to demonstrate our commitment to enhanced connectivity in Zimbabwe. As we approach the holiday season, these new frequencies will provide additional capacity between these two cities of significant importance in the Southern African region,” he added.
Fastjet Zimbabwe’s chief commercial officer Vivian Ruwuya commented added: “Aviation is a catalyst in developing a destination. By adding these weekday frequencies, we are contributing to the growth of tourism and commerce in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
“As Fastjet, we are committed to connectivity and are delighted to offer the Bulawayo-Johannesburg traveller the choice of a day’s trip flight for business or leisure.”
Fastjet is one of two airlines servicing the Johannesburg-Bulawayo route alongside Airlink. _*ZimLive*_
