The shocking incident unfolded at approximately 2:40 am, leaving the community in shock and sorrow.

Children’s Traumatic Discovery:
The true horror of the situation unfolded when Ncube’s two young children stumbled upon the grim scene. They found their mother with a stab wound to her chest, a sight that will undoubtedly haunt them forever. Rushed to the hospital, Ncube fought for her life but succumbed to her injuries later.

A Past of Violence:
This isn’t the first time Ncube faced violence from the same individual. AccoSources revealed that the assailant believed to be her former partner, had a history of violence.

Released from prison three years ago after a previous attack on Ncube, he had served only half of his 10-year sentence. The incident raises concerns about the efficacy of the legal system in protecting victims of domestic violence.

Heartfelt Tributes and Community Shock:
Ncube’s family, devastated by the loss of their beloved Percy, described her as a “loving and devoted mother” who lived for her children, family, and friends. The close-knit community she had built around her, especially within her church, is now grappling with the shock of this senseless act.

Police Appeal for Information:
The BBC reports that Detective Chief Inspector Gina Brennand acknowledged the targeted nature of the attack and appealed to the public for information.

Brennand stressed the importance of community cooperation, stating, “This was a truly horrific attack on a mother, witnessed by her two young children, and we really need the public to come forward and give information to us to find answers for them.”

Reassurance for the Community:
Acknowledging the worry this incident has caused in the community, extra neighbourhood officers will be patrolling the area to provide reassurance. Residents with any concerns are encouraged to approach the police.

This heartbreaking incident underscores the urgent need for vigilance and support in combatting domestic violence, and ensuring the safety of individuals like Perseverance Ncube who tragically lost her life in the pursuit of a safe and secure home.
