THE UANC President Urges Zimbabweans to Unite and Address Urgent Challenges
Harare, Zimbabwe – In a passionate plea for unity and action, the UANC President, Dr. Gwinyai Muzorewa, called on all Zimbabweans to come together and tackle pressing issues such as the cholera outbreak and the struggling economy. Speaking at a press conference in Harare today, the man of God and 2023 Presidential election contestant expressed his concern over the lack of political will and unity of purpose in the country.
Dr. Muzorewa highlighted the detrimental effects of polarization on all sectors of the economy, stating, “We cannot afford to remain divided while our nation suffers. It is time for us to compromise and work towards a common goal – the development and prosperity of Zimbabwe.”
Addressing the recent cholera pandemic, which has seen the recall of elected councilors, Dr. Muzorewa emphasized the need for immediate action. “The outbreak of cholera is a clear indication that our infrastructure and healthcare systems are failing. We must unite to address this crisis and prevent further loss of life.”
Drawing inspiration from his late brother, Bishop Abel Muzorewa, and other leaders such as Robert Mugabe, Dr. Muzorewa stressed the importance of valuing unity. “Heroes like Robert Mugabe, Bishop Abel Muzorewa, and other leaders had to compromise and unite for the sake of development. We must learn from their example and unite for the greater good of our nation.”
Turning his attention to the recent budget, Dr. Muzorewa criticized its implementation, stating, “The government presents a budget in RTGs, yet they continue to use USD. This lack of transparency and direction only adds to the confusion and uncertainty facing our economy.”
Furthermore, Dr. Muzorewa expressed his disappointment with the lack of direction within the opposition CCC. He highlighted the unnecessary recalls that have further fragmented the opposition, hindering their ability to effectively challenge the ruling party.
Dr. Muzorewa called for a united front in addressing the urgent challenges facing Zimbabwe. “We must work together to overcome these obstacles. It is only through unity and a shared vision that we can bring about positive change and secure a brighter future for all Zimbabweans.”
