Legendary Sungura musician Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria has addressed the recent controversy involving flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo.
Chivayo publicly criticised Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria after a video of the musician surfaced online.
Video Sparks Public Dispute
In the video, Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria is seen conversing with another individual at a mechanic shop while his car undergoes repairs.
The individual, appearing to be a fan, asks about Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria’s car. The musician explains that he has been using the same car for many years, which has now become old and prone to breakdowns.
Despite the fan’s suggestion that a music legend like Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria deserves a better car for shows or church, there is no mention of Wicknell Chivayo in the conversation, nor any request for a car from him.
However, Chivayo took offence to the video, interpreting it as a demand for a car from him.
Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria Responds to Wicknell Chivayo
In response to Chivayo’s comments, Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria issued an open letter, maintaining his characteristic humility. He clarified that the video was simply an advertisement for the mechanic’s business and expressed no intention to tell Chivayo how to spend his money.
Madzibaba Zakaria extended his well wishes to Chivayo, hoping that he continues to bless Zimbabweans with vehicles and cash.
In the heartfelt letter, Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria expressed gratitude for the support he has received from Zimbabweans and reiterated his faith in God’s protection.
