Baptist President Rev Moyo dies
The heavens rejoice as Dr Rev Patrick Face Moyo, a beloved community leader and church minister, ascended on 18 April at the age of 74 following a severe stroke.
Dr Moyo who will be remembered for his charismatic personality, warm heart, and unwavering faith in God was born on 14 September 1950.
He dedicated his life to serving others and spreading love and compassion in his community through preaching the word of God.
His legacy of kindness, generosity, and faith will continue to inspire others for years to come.
According to the family spokesperson, Rev Phanuel Banda, Dr Moyo collapsed on his way from a checkup at Kuranda, was rushed to Kensington Clinic and later transferred to Arundel Hospital where he passed on.
“He died on his way from his usual checkups in Kuranda, before his death he was rushed to Kensington Clinic in Harare and then was transferred to Arundel where he passed on at 3:50 am,” said Rev Banda.
He is survived by his wife Sitheni Noko Moyo, 6 children and 13 grandchildren.
The Reverend had close to 50 years of church ministry experience he had served as the President for more than 3 terms conservatively at the National Baptist Convention Church and was currently leading close to 20 churches from Chinhoyi, Norton, Chegutu, Kadoma, Kwekwe, Gokwe, Redcliff Gweru just to mention but a few.
Dr Moyo also served on the advisory boards of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe and Zimmet.
He has touched many lives from the old days of Scripture Union in high schools particularly Mkoba Secondary which involved the Warambwa boys.
In addition to his role as a minister, Dr Moyo was also a dedicated community leader, working tirelessly to improve the lives of those around him and his sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, community members and the nation as a whole.
However, his legacy of kindness, generosity, and faith will continue to inspire others for years to come as he was actively involved in various charitable initiatives and humanitarian projects, always striving to make a positive impact on the world.
His burial is set for Sunday, April 21, 2024 in Gweru.#TheSun
