ZAS To Beef Up Security For 2024 Agric Show

The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show Society has announced that the 2024 Agricultural Show that will be held from Monday August 26, to Saturday August 31 in Harare will be one of the safest ever annual event to be held.

Briefing journalists today in Harare, ZAS chief executive fficer Dr Andrew Matibiri said exhibitors, visitors, farmers and children will all be secure during the 114th edition of Show.

“Preparation are now at advanced level and ZAS assures high security for everyone who will attend the most prestigious show which takes place annually in Zimbabwe,” said Dr Matibiri.

The theme for the 2024 Zimbabwe Agricultural Show is “Cultivating Prosperity.Growing Business.Innovation for change. Nurturing our Future”, which encapsulates unwavering commitment to driving the growth, sustainability and transformation of Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector.

Over 250 000 visitors from across Zimbabwe and the region are expected to attend the show.

ZAS will host a series of targeted business events which include business conferences and networking sessions. ZAS has also programmed the calendar of events which will include Exhibitors’ cocktails, annual national agribusiness conference, research for agricultural excellence indaba, environmental, social and governance and diplomatic business conference.

Dr Matibiri outlined the sections that will be hosted by ZAS which will include agricultural produce section, livestock section, tobacco, cotton and micro- enterprises and a lot of entertainment activities that will take place at the Glamis Arena.

“Security issues are at the core of visitor convenience and ZAS has now beefed up security and will be using the latest technology to ensure public safety. Children will be tagged with the support of our partners to ensure their safety, and drones will be in place to monitor any security risk activities,” said Dr Matibiri.

The Glamis Arena programme will also feature live performances from renowned local artists, showcasing their musical and dance talents. A fireworks display will be held to bring the curtain down on yhe event.

Entrance fee is pegged at US$1 for children and US$5 for adults from Monday to Thursday and US$2 for children and US$7 for adults on Friday and Saturday.
