DJ Sbu apologises for supporting Miss SA finalist Chidimma Adetshina

DJ Sbu apologised to South Africans on his radio show on Thursday, 8 August after supporting Miss SA finalist Chidimma Adetshina.

Businessman Sbusiso Leope known as DJ Sbu apologises to South Africans following fraud case involving Chidimma Adetshina’s mother.

His apology comes after the Department of Home Affairs uncovered that Chidimma Adetshina’s mother allegedly committed identity fraud to gain SA citizenship.

DJ SBU: ‘I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGISE’

The broadcaster, DJ Sbu apologised on his breakfast show on Radio 2000 on Thursday, 8 August after defending Miss SA finalist Chidimma Adetshina.

“I’ve never been arrogant. I humble myself as the law is taking its course. Anybody that I may have offended with any of the things I might have said on social media, regarding the Miss SA matter,” says DJ Sbu on his radio show.

“I would like to apologise with no excuses. I am also a South African. If the law has been broken, let the law take its course,” he adds.

TimesLIVE reported in July that Leope, who is the co-founder of the energy drink Mofaya, which sponsors Miss SA said on YouTube that South Africans have “selective outrage”.

“I think we’ve got selective outrage. Sometimes we focus our energies where we’re not supposed to be focusing our energies. What would it help a man to hate on a young [lady] who is pursuing a future? Who was born in SA and who entered Miss SA legitimately through her South African barcoded green ID?” he asked.

SOUTH AFRICANS DRAG LERATO KGANYAGO FOR SUPPORTING MISS SA FINALIST

South Africans on social media are demanding Crown Chaser judge Lerato Kganyago to apologise for supporting Chidimma Adetshina.

“I wouldn’t be part of an organisation that is dishonest. There was proper vetting that was done, proper research and proper documentation were received to proof she is South African,” said Kganyago in an Instagram LIVE with Somizi.

Kganyago privatised her Instagram and deactivated her X account this week after South Africans dragged her for supporting the popular Miss SA finalist.

@NtokozoNtando7 said on X: “She must be removed from the judges panel of the competition. She has compromised the @Official_MissSA and showed biasness.”

@MansOpinions: “Lerato Kganyago and DJ Sbu owe us an explanation. Those bloody sell outs.”

@UpdateTrendNow: “Home Affairs uncovers prima facie fraud by #Chidimma’s mother, the Nigerian wannabe Miss SA. Where is DJ Sbu, Ntsiki, Pearl Thusi, Lerato Kganyago, and EFF now? They always defend without facts.”
